31 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (14):

More on the Qana massacre:
Very interestingly, strong condemnation has come from the "democratically elected" government
of "national unity" in Iraq, whose VP Adel Abdul-Mahdi, a Shiite, during a speech attended by Iraq's
president, the PM and other top government officials, said:
"What happened in Qana is a repetition of these crimes that happened to our nation decades ago.
It's time for this nation to stand up and stop this aggression and all forms of aggression that could
affect any of its parts. These horrible massacres carried out by the Israeli aggression, incites in us
the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity".
These were stronger words than those of president Talabani and the deputy PM on Sunday.
Before going to Washington last week, PM Nouri al-Maliki, also a Shiite, had also condemned
Israel's offensive, provoking criticism from US lawmakers. Several Democrats boycotted his
speech to Congress on Wednesday and Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean called the Iraqi
leader an "anti-Semite", confirming that Israel's stranglehold on Congress is total.

Iraq's top Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani demanded an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon,
warning in a clear reference to America that "Islamic nations will not forgive the entities that hinder
a cease-fire".
So America's servitude to Israel is already causing problems in GW Bush's "New Middle East"!

At the UN SC, which is clearly terminally dysfunctional until the right of veto is abolished, all 15
members managed to agree on a statement expressing "extreme shock and distress" at the deaths
in Qana and that the council "strongly deplores this loss of innocent lives" but, due to american
pressure, it did not call for an immediate ceasefire, only for a permanent and sustainable ceasefire,
despite an earlier appeal by Kofi Annan: "Action is needed now before many more children, women
and men become casualties of a conflict over which they have no control".
Predictably, Israel's ambassador to the UN, Dan Gillerman, said: "If there were no Hizbollah this
would never have happened". Israel is always perfect and the rest of the world is always wrong!

Kofi Annan said: "There is strong prima facie evidence that both sides have committed grave
breaches of international humanitarian law".
This is a reference, with regard to Israel, to the principle of proportionality and to the bombing of
buildings and structures with civilians in or near them - the Geneva Conventions allow attacks only
if such places are making an "effective" military contribution to the opposing side.

As for Hizbollah, it has been firing rockets indiscriminately into civilian areas and Jan Egeland, the
UN Humanitarian chief, has accused it of using civilians as cover.

Human Rights Watch in New York has accused Israel of committing war crimes by carrying out
an indiscriminate bombing campaign in Lebanon and specifically called on the UN "to investigate
serious violations of international humanitarian law in the context of the current conflict".
Its director Kenneth Roth said: "Today's strike on Qana suggests that the israeli military is treating
southern Lebanon as a free-fire zone. The israeli military seems to consider anyone left in the area
a combatant who is fair game for attack. Such consistent failure to distinguish combatants and
civilians is a war crime".

Predictably, in a statement the Israel Defense Forces said: "Responsibility for any and all casualties
among uninvolved lebanese civilians lies squarely on the shoulders of Hizbollah, which abuses
civilians as human shields, and on the lebanese government which fails to prevent this".

In Washington GW Bush said: "Today's actions in the Middle East remind us that friends and allies
must work together for a sustainable peace particularly for the sake of children" and claimed the US
wanted "to develop a resolution that will enable the region to have a sustainable peace, a peace
that lasts, a peace that will enable mothers and fathers to raise their children in a hopeful world".
Wonderful words, Hallelujah, but what the neo-cons and zionists are planning will of course enable
none of that to happen, because they see the "root cause" as Hizbollah -and Hamas- whereas it is
totally obvious that the underlying problem is the palestinian struggle for justice.

Lebanon observed a national day of mourning as PM Fouad Siniora denounced Israel's "heinous
crimes against civilians" and said: "There is no place at this sad moment for any discussions other
than an immediate and unconditional cease-fire as well as international investigation of the israeli
massacres in Lebanon now".
Hassan Fadlallah, a Hizbollah member of the Lebanese parliament said: "The cabinet, the
resistance and the people are united on their stand. Stopping the israeli aggression is the priority,
there is no other discussion, there is no negotiation concerning any other issues. When the israeli
aggression stops, we can then discuss other political issues".

The attack has led to the suspension of air strikes for 48 hours by Israel, no doubt due to pressure
from the US, so that an investigation can be carried out into the Qana bombing and for civilians to
leave the area. Israeli defence minister Amir Peretz described himself as a man of peace (words
have no meaning anymore!) and the 48-hour cessation of air strikes as a "humanitarian gesture".
Really? What do these brutal state-terrorists know about the word humanitarian???
PM Olmert said Israel was "not fighting against the Lebanese people". Really?
Of which about 750 are now dead, how many injured? and approx 750,000 have fled their homes.
Hizbollah, the people you keep calling terrorists, are also the lebanese people!!

In the UK FM Margaret Beckett defended the UKs position in not calling for an immediate ceasefire
and she declined to comment on whether she agreed with her predecessor Jack Straw, who
described Israel's military action as "disproportionate". Instead she urged caution about the use of
"certain language", adding that if Israel felt people did not understand their problem "they would
stop listening, and we cannot afford for Israel to stop listening". No?? And why not?
Always this servile trying to understand little Israel's position, using soft language so as not to upset
the zionists, regardless of the barbarity of their latest crimes. It is both despicable and disgusting!
And if we talked straight and loud, and if they then stopped to listen - so what? The way to get
them to switch back into receiving mode, and quickly, would be sanctions, economic, cultural,
diplomatic - richly deserved and decades overdue!
She said: "We are trying to work for a ceasefire, just as everybody wants, but we want it to be a
ceasefire that holds together for longer than a day and a half". Wonderful words and in the
meantime, just to keep the zionists sweet, more good men, women and children are being blown
to bits in what is left of Lebanon.....

Israel's latest position is that there would be no cease-fire, and that israeli forces continued fighting
in the air, from the sea and on the ground in Lebanon. PM Ehud Olmert said: "We are determined
to succeed in this struggle, we will not give up on our goal to live a life free of terror" and added the
fighting will end when Israel brings home the two soldiers captured by Hezbollah guerrillas in a raid
on 12 July. Sir, you can wait a long time, the war you have started so recklessly is un-winnable!

I will leave you with this one: "They send the israelis smart bombs and they send us blankets.
If it was up to me, I would not let this ship dock here. I would dump this stuff in the sea!" said a
lebanese soldier as he watched US relief goods arriving in Beirut.

30 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (13):

On the Qana massacre:
Latest figures are 54 dead, of which 34 children.
Lebanese PM Fouad Siniora denounced Israel's "heinous crimes against civilians", described
Israel's leaders as "war criminals", said there was "no room on this sad morning" for talks until
Israel had halted its attacks, called for an "immediate, unconditional ceasefire", praised Hizbollah
militants who were "sacrificing their lives for Lebanon's independence" and he cancelled talks with
US secretary of state Condi Rice.

Predictably and cowardly, Israel said it "regrets the incident" but added that civilians had been
"warned to flee the village". Most of the population of the town had already fled and these were
displaced people, sheltering in the basement of a building which was crushed by a direct hit.
Those left behind were mainly the poor and vulnerable, those unable or too terrified to flee.
One survivor shouted: "May God have mercy on the children, they came here to escape the
fighting". And don't forget, a few days ago when people were desperately fleeing Qana, on several
occasions the convoy came under attack, although clearly marked, and there were 2 direct hits on
ambulances, also clearly marked, one of those shells described as "having hit the bulls-eye".

Before this tragedy happened, the UN called for a three-day truce between Israel and Hizbollah
for delivery of emergency aid in the south, this was refused by Israel, saying that it has already
facilitated a "safe corridor" for precisely that purpose, ignoring the fact that the corridor is very
limited and, after the attacks on other convoys, one is entitled to ask: is it safe?

PM Ehud Olmert said Israel would "continue to act with no hesitation against Hizbollah" and he has
reportedly told Ms Rice that Israel "needs 10-14 days to achieve its major goals". So presumably,
after expressing her "deepest sadness over the loss of innocent life", Ms Rice just shuts up and
goes home after another quiet day at the office, leaving the evil israelis free to keep blowing old
women and small children to bits. Hitler and Stalin would be proud of you!!

Here we have, supposedly, the world's only super-power, a nation of 300 million people, being held
to ransom, being told what to do and what not to do, at the beck and call, being led by the nose like
some dancing bear, being humiliated again and again, and paying for it all, by a few million jews
and/or israelis and/or zionists. It is grotesque, it is insane, it is.. words fail me.....
but it MUST STOP NOW!

And "mini-Bush" Tony Blair, unable or unwilling to separate on any issue from his partner in that
"special relationship" with America, must increasingly realize that there will be a high price to pay
for his repeated follies of always siding with the US, no matter how illegal or idiotic the policy.
A price maybe not to be paid today or tomorrow - but remember this: arabs and muslims have
long memories.....

In Britain, former FM Jack Straw has criticized Israel's response in fairly strong language but still
using phrases like "Israel has a right to defend itself but should do so proportionately". To me, the
use of normal language is no longer an option: anyone, nation or individual, that does not in strong
and clear terms condemn Israel's outrageous pathological over-reaction to what was a fairly small
border incident is at least partially guilty of these unspeakable atrocities against a weak nation
which had only just recovered and rebuilt after 20 years of tragic conflicts.

A member of the governing Labour Party, David Winnick, welcomed Mr Straw's public criticism of
Israel and said: "I think these comments reflect the majority view in the parliamentary party,
including ministers. Perhaps more importantly it's the view in the country at large".
He added that "sensible people" had no time for Hizbollah, but Israel's actions were merely
encouraging extremists.
Yet again these most unhelpful expressions. I do consider myself to be sensible and at the same
time I have a lot of time for Hizbollah and Hamas and for Iran. Does that make me an "extremist"
or an actual "terrorist sympathizer"? I go only by what I consider to be right and wrong and I have
always stood up for justice - and, as we all know, the ultimate way to show that is to support the
palestinian struggle wholeheartedly and unreservedly. Has anyone got a problem with that??

Anyone describing Hizbollah as terrorists and insisting that Israel is doing the right thing right now,
is quite simply sick. Surely no person or nation claiming to be civilized can ever have anything to
do with Israel again.....

And, as anyone with eyes and ears, a brain and a heart, can see and hear, sense and feel:
the extremists, the radicals, the fanatics, the terrorists, today are the governments of Israel and
America and, sadly increasingly also, Britain.

Blair has come under pressure from within his own party for not calling for an immediate ceasefire
in southern Lebanon, but said that was not the solution to the crisis.
Instead he said: "If we can achieve a basis for a ceasefire that will allow Israel's security to be
protected and the international community to be engaged in sorting out the south of Lebanon,
then of course that's the right way to proceed" but conceded that for any truce to work both Israel
and Hizbollah had to be engaged in it.
Statements like these leave me indescribably angry and totally exasperated: OF COURSE an
immediate cease-fire is not the solution to this or to any other crisis - the function of an immediate
cease-fire, as Tony Blair knows as well as anybody else, is to stop the bloodshed and destruction,
nothing else, while a more lasting political solution is pursued and hopefully found.
As Mr Blair is not stupid, he must know this and, as he says the opposite, he must therefore be
lying, and lying deliberately, to the United Kingdom and the world. And there can be no other
reason than giving in to Israel's wish to have more time to "destroy Hizbollah" (wishful thinking!).
Oh what a surprise! Tony Blair, just like Bush and Olmert, you are a war criminal!

In the quote above, Blair was talking about protecting Israel's security, oh yes he was, read it
again.
Excuse me, words fail me again. At the moment, we should all be deeply concerned about the
security of Lebanon and its beautiful friendly people - speaking for myself, the security of Israel no
longer interests me one little bit. It once did, but no longer. As I say in AXIS of EVIL

The World chose in its wisdom (?) in nineteen fortyeight
To partition Palestine in order to create
A homeland for the Jews who’ve had more than fifty years
To prove to us all that it was a good idea
As far as I can see, and you may disagree
On balance they have failed and done so miserably
For reasons that would make a long unpleasant list
Israel has forfeited its right to exist

Look around and listen and it is clear that some
Of us have had enough, maybe the time has come
To dissolve the state of Israel, resurrect Palestine
And give one person one vote. That would be fine
By me and if the Jews say: “Not now, but soon”
They can all go to America or to the dark side of the Moon.

If these evil people are in truth God's chosen ones, then the Almighty must have
chosen them for one thing and for one thing only: to be forever cursed!

29 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (12):

At their joint press conference, Bush and Blair both repeated their common line, that what matters
in the ghastly conflict raging in Lebanon is a ceasefire that will last, which may take some time to
arrange. This perverse view puts them in a minority of probably no more than 3 - Israel, America
and Britain. All civilized people and nations want an immediate unconditional ceasefire and there
can only be one reason for America and Britain, or rather their governments, to resist that loud and
clear call: to give Israel more time to do its indisputably evil work in Lebanon. Anyone with any
empathy towards our fellow humans would insist and do the utmost to stop the terrible carnage and
suffering, which is as totally unacceptable as it is totally unnecessary, right now. Bush and Blair
must be tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

GWB said: "This is a moment of intense conflict in the Middle East. Yet our aim is to turn it into a
moment of opportunity and a chance for broader change in the region. As we work to resolve this
current crisis, we must recognize that Lebanon is the latest flashpoint in a broader struggle between
freedom and terror that is unfolding across the region".
Yet again this insane nonsense, repeating the evil credo of the neo-cons (read: neo-nazis) in
Washington and of the belligerent zionist terrorists in Tel-Aviv.
Surely by now it must be obvious to anyone who is not a fool that this entire 'War on Terror' was
carefully conceived, planned, designed and manufactured by precisely those 2 groups, solely in
order to further their despicable aims: re-engineering the world to suit their own narrow interests.
And, following the collapse of the Soviet Empire, which at a stroke removed both the obstacle and
the "enemy", how better to do that than demonize Islam and its followers, wherever they may be.

Judging by developments in the arab world during the last few days, one positive aspect of the
catastrophe unfolding in Lebanon, is that Sunni and Shia muslims appear to be moving closer
together, in times of crisis a normal and natural reaction, but it would be wonderful for Islam if it
would last, if they would all realize that, first and foremost, they are muslims together in a largely
hostile world.
And popular support for Hizbollah is exploding across the region, the movement being seen as the
only real practical and actual resistance to Israel+America. This again, directly or indirectly, must
be strengthening Iran whose 70 million are almost entirely Shia which, in turn, must be worrying
for many of the moderate pro-western (read: unrepresentative!) governments such as in Egypt,
Jordan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Both Hitler and Stalin would be proud, not only of the actions but also of the language used by
some of Israel's leaders:
Ehud Olmert promised to "set Lebanon back 20 years" and must be close to achieving that hideous
goal and he has repeatedly called Hizbollah and Hamas "bloody brutal murderous terrorists".
Haim Ramon, the justice minister (the what? israelis would not recognize justice if it ran them over
which, inshallah, it will, and hopefully soon!) said that the failure of the Rome meeting to call for an
immediate ceasefire meant that "the world had given Israel the green light to continue".
The EU was not slow to respond that such an interpretation was "totally wrong" and that the EU
did indeed support an immediate ceasefire. Even America officially said that Ramon's statement
was "outrageous" (and then probably called on the hotline immediately after to apologize!).
One minister, Eli Yishai of the ultra-orthodox Shas party, said that after warnings had been given,
"we must not enter villages where Hezbollah terrorists are hiding before we have turned them into
sand boxes".
Another said that, unless Hizbollah was totally wiped out, it would be seen as a "victory for world
terror". Excuse me, which world do these men inhabit? Certainly the world of obscene propaganda,
forever painting the totally false picture of heroic and decent and above all innocent little Israel right
there on the very front line of international terrorism, fighting all those brutal bloodthirsty islamic
muslim barbarians on behalf of the whole world, which therefore should not only allow Israel to wipe
them all out but should actually pay for it and be ever-so-grateful, too. As I said: obscene!!
That anything up to 40, maybe 50, million american evangelical christians agree with that
description only makes it more obscene!

Interestingly, India’s prime minister Manmohan Singh, whilst also condemning the abduction of
the two soldiers by Hizbollah, has said this: “We are condemning in the strongest possible terms
the disproportionate reaction by Israel. The virtual destruction of a country that has been painfully
rebuilt after two decades of civil war can hardly be countenanced by any civilized state. We have
particularly expressed concern that the actions of the israeli defense forces have resulted in the
killing and suffering of innocent civilians including women and children. We call for an immediate
cease-fire so that the destruction of Lebanon is ended and humanitarian assistance can be
provided”. He also criticized Israel for the arrest and continuing detention of palestinian ministers,
saying: “There can be no justification whatsoever for taking such action against the duly elected
representatives of the palestinian people" and he condemned Tuesday’s killing of four UN
observers in an Israeli attack on a UN post in Lebanon and said India was “seriously concerned
about the escalation of the conflict” and wanted a “long-term solution that will address the
legitimate concerns of all parties in the region leading to a comprehensive and negotiated solution.
West Asia is our extended neighbourhood and troubles in that region affect our security and our
vital interests".

There is an intense debate in Germany as to whether any of their troops should participate at all
in the multi-national UN-mandated force now under discussion. Their problem is that many, quite
likely most, germans are still feeling so collectively guilty about what Hitler did to the jews that they
simply cannot accept even the possibility that a german soldier might point his gun at a jew. Yes,
I am serious, that is the problem. That the behaviour of Israel increasingly matches that of Nazi-
Germany, and that the object must be to confront evil in whatever form and wherever it occurs,
seems irrelevant to modern germans. How tragic, and it confirms that the damage Hitler did to
Germany was far greater than that done to the jews: Germany now cursed to eternal impotence
and the jews convinced they can now do what they want - so that is exactly what they do.

That horrid black witch, Condi Rice [NOTE: one of my regular readers has just pointed out that
'black' as used here sounds racist, however, it is not meant in that way but this one: in the world
of magic there are 2 kinds of witches, white witches who use their magic powers exclusively to do
good, and black witches who do only evil] is now back in the ME although it must be obvious to all
that she has no positive role to play. She said that "this needs to be between Lebanon and Israel"
after Kofi Annan and european ministers have called for efforts to engage Syria and Iran
constructively in seeking a political solution in Lebanon.

She has just said she is "deeply saddened by the terrible loss of innocent life" after an israeli
attack on Qana (where Israel shelled a UN post in 1996 resulting in the deaths of more than 100
lebanese civilians who were sheltering there) a village in southern Lebanon, but she did not call
for an immediate cease-fire in the fighting between Israel and Hizbollah. She said she is "working
with all parties to try to stop the violence" but has repeatedly categorically ruled out bringing in Syria
and Iran. That's America's foreign policy: inconsistent, incomprehensible, illegal, untenable and,
were it not all so terribly sad and tragic, one would be rolling about on the floor clutching one's
stomach, roaring with laughter..... As I say elsewhere here on MYSPEAK, if I ruled the world, I
would immediately sign a decree confining all american citizens to american soil, to be reviewed
after 25 years, pending civilised behaviour.

European and arab diplomats say a solution must take account of the interests of Syria and Iran
but apparently America, as ever subservient to its zionist masters, is determined to have this settled
on Israel's terms. The civilized world, should it still exist, must prevent this!

26 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (11):

So, 4 UN observers, 1 each from Austria, Canada, China and Finland, unarmed and manning a post
in southern Lebanon ("manning" means hiding in the bunker below), have been killed by Israel in a
precision-bomb attack after they had been subjected to a 6-hour bombardment during which, it is
reported, they contacted Israel 10 times and were assured each time that the attacks would stop.
It is very difficult to believe that it was an accident, given the "smart" weapon involved, and the UNs
Kofi Annan has already condemned this "apparently deliberate" targeting of his people.

The finnish FM said: "These so-called precision attacks seem to be mainly targeting everyone else
except the Hizbollah" and there were similar condemnations from Austria and China -
and Canada?

Israel has expressed "deep regret" and of course they will investigate - but how sincerely?!
Ehud Olmert also said: "It's inconceivable for the UN to define an error as an apparently deliberate
action". Always this breathtaking arrogance! Always this total unwillingness on the part of Israel to
even consider the possibility that this time they might be wrong and, if so, deliberately wrong,
commonly known as lying.
Obviously, we must wait for a few more details but from what we already have it seems quite safe
to conclude that it cannot have been an accident - how is America going to defend that?!?

There were other UN observers in the area and they survived. The question must now be asked:
had they all seen something that Israel did not want them to see, therefore the "regrettable
mistake"?
Don't rule anything out here.

This incident will now of course make it even more difficult to persuade any nation to volunteer its
troops for any "peace-keeping" force - maybe that was Israel's intention?

Whether accident or deliberate, it is deeply worrying and this incident should finally convince even
the most ardent supporter of Zionism that Israel cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons!!

This latest israeli outrage should also finally convince even the most moderate doubter that the
problem is neither Hizbollah nor Hamas nor Muslims nor Islam - but Israel (+America).

This incident brings the UN personnel death toll in southern Lebanon, since this latest crisis broke
out, to 12.

And don't forget the Qana massacre in 1996 when Israel shelled a UN post in which lebanese were
sheltering, mostly women and children, 102 were killed.
Has not the time come for Israel to be expelled from the United Nations?

It is reported that around 12 israeli soldiers have been killed during the fighting for the town of
Bint Jbail, a Hizbollah stronghold, which is only 4km from the border.
Another question please: what happened to the "great israeli armed forces"? In 1967 they defeated
the major arab armies in 6 days - now all they can do is smash everything cowardly from the air
and when they venture into actual combat on the ground, they spend more time carrying back their
dead and wounded than going forward! Richly deserved of course, but why are they not better?
Maybe, in the words of that great indian writer Rabindranath Tagore: "When ants grow wings, they
perish"?
I am more inclined to believe it has to do with something else: the power of faith, the faith of the
resistance fighters. We saw the same in Afghanistan, especially in the early 90s when the emerging
Taliban were winning battles that every military expert would tell you could not be won with those
numbers and that equipment. Long live Hamas and Hizbollah! Hands off Lebanon, Syria and Iran!

Shamefully, but predictably, the US and the UK have both resisted calls for an immediate ceasefire,
yet again proving to the world that saving human lives and infrastructure is not their first priority,
that being bowing to israeli wishes for more time to cause death and destruction in Lebanon and
Gaza. Maybe those "bunker-buster" bombs have not arrived yet so they must give Israel the extra
time to see if they have now provided their zionist masters with the right tools to wipe out Hassan
Nasrallah and the other Hizbollah leaders, plus destroy the deep underground bunkers reported
very close to the israeli border.
As the killing in Iraq of Abu Musab al-Zarkawi proved, it takes much more than the elimination of
one individual, even a brilliant and charismatic one like Nasrallah, to crush an insurgency or
resistance movement.

Tellingly, during her trip round the region, Condi Rice met in Beirut with the lebanese PM Fouad
Siniora, who is anti-Syria but not with the president Emile Lahoud, who is pro-Syria, and in the
illegally Occupied Territories she met in Ramallah with president Mahmoud Abbas but did not go
to Gaza to meet PM Ismail Hania of Hamas. This kind of selective communication is doomed to
failure, you have to speak to and engage with everybody. As Kofi Annan so correctly said today,
both Syria and Iran should be brought into the discussions and negotiations. All Ms Rice could
say about that was that "there is no need to talk to Syria, what Syria needs to do is to act".
Presumably along the lines of GW Bush's ill-considered remark last week at the G8-summit, that
"they [UN] should get Syria to get Hizbollah to stop doing this sh.. and it's over!" - remember??
Well, why don't we all send an email to GWB right now at the White House: "George why don't
you just get Condi to get Olmert to get Peretz to stop doing this sh.. and it's over!".

Whatever happens, Hizbollah is not going to go away and, anyway, the emergence, rise and the
importance of the movement today is a direct result, a natural and healthy reaction, to Israel's
policies over decades.
The americans are quite right that a ceasefire "must be lasting, permanent and sustainable" but
what they have in mind will of course achieve none of that. For that to happen, not only the
situation in Lebanon must be addressed but also, probably even more importantly, that in Gaza
and the West Bank for that is the underlying problem which poisons everything else.

Iran has complained bitterly that Turkey and Saudi Arabia have stopped Iran using their air space
to send humanitarian relief to Lebanon. Iran's health ministry has been collecting supplies to send
to the Lebanese people but the goods had to be sent via Dubai to Syria because of objections by
other countries in the region. This is likely to further strain relations between those countries and
Iran as Iran feels they should do more to support Hizbollah against Israel.

25 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (10):

Obscenity has reached new heights and morals and empathy new lows:
GW Bush said yesterday that "everybody abhors the loss of innocent lives", Condy Rice said today,
after meeting Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah in the illegally occupied West Bank: "I assured the
president that we have great concerns about the suffering of innocent peoples throughout the
region", yet she did not call for an immediate unconditional ceasefire both in Lebanon and Gaza.
This is being said to the world at the same time that America is rushing massive "bunker-buster"
bombs and $200m of jet fuel out to Israel to further their savage state-terrorism.

Ehud Olmert, proving himself a worthy successor to that evil man Ariel Sharon, said he was
"very aware of the state of humanitarian affairs of the population of Lebanon as a result of the
brutality of Hizbollah", insisted Israel was defending itself against "terrorism", that "Israel was not at
war with the Lebanese people, but with Hizbollah", and that "I think I can say in complete sincerity,
that Lebanon and Israel are both victims of this brutal terrorist, murderous organisation", insisting
that Israel would take the "most severe measures" against it.

Excuse me Sir, not at war with the lebanese people, but with Hizbollah? There are 3.8 million
lebanese of which the 1.2 million Shia Muslims form the single largest group and, as I understand it,
the vast majority of those support Hizbollah - so Hizbollah ARE the lebanese people, granted
not all of them but a very substantial minority, roughly 1 third, Hizbollah also have 23 MPs and 2
cabinet ministers in the current government, so they are not going to go away however long and
brutally you bomb them - long-term it will only strengthen the movement by increasing hatred of
Israel, should that be possible.
As for being brutal and murderous and terrorist, that is an accurate description of Israel's reaction,
but of course it is an ancient propaganda trick to accuse your opponent of being precisely what you
are yourself, thus hoping that you may appear almost human to the casual observer.

Mr Abbas, decent man but largely irrelevant these days, called for an immediate end to "aggression
against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank" and for an "immediate ceasefire" in Lebanon.

According to the israeli human rights group B'tselem, six civilians including two minors were used
as human shields, an illegal tactic, during an incursion into the town of Beit Hanoun in northern
Gaza last week.

Fresh from his ghastly sight-seeing trip to Beirut, the UN's emergency relief chief Jan Egeland has
just been to Gaza and condemned the devastation caused by Israel, saying it is a violation of
humanitarian law and described the destruction as horrific.

Human Rights Watch has urged Israel to stop using cluster bombs in civilian areas, it is arguably
a war crime, and there are several serious claims, supported by local doctors, that Israel is using
phosphorous bombs against civilian targets, at least in the south of Lebanon.

Ms Rice was babbling about "an enduring peace" in the ME, or maybe I misheard her and what
she really said was "an enduring base". If she said peace, and meant it, that MUST be a JUST
peace for the palestinians and that in turn MUST mean Israel's full compliance with International
Law (what?) which in turn means that Israel MUST withdraw unconditionally to the 1948 borders
AND either permit all the palestinians displaced way back then to return OR pay them all suitable
compensation, including for the homes and the land they lost.
THAT might bring about an enduring peace - nothing less will do.

Ms Rice, ominously, also said: "It is time for a new Middle East, it is time to say to those who do
not want a different kind of Middle East that we will prevail, they will not".
Here we go again, as if we did not know it already: this is all about GW Bush's 'Greater Middle
East Initiative' which is just the regional version of the chilling visions outlined in the 'Project for the
New American Century'. Well, as GWB said so "eloquently" when he proudly announced his 'War
OF Terror' against all things Islamic: "You are either with us or against us on this".
You know something GWB? Seeing as you leave me no middle way: I AM AGAINST YOU!!

Summing up, the collective West ably led by America, can be thoroughly proud of the wonderful
humanitarian work it is doing in the Middle East right now, all in the name of fighting extremism.
Yes, that was a joke - where can I throw up please??

Oh, and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has just pledged $1.5bn to Lebanon and $250m to the
palestinians and had this to say: "Saudi Arabia warns everybody that if the peace option fails
because of Israeli arrogance, there will be no other option but war".

That is very nice of him of course but don't normally the nations which commit war-crimes actually
have to pay the reparations, in this case Israel and America??

23 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (9):

Status tonight:
Nearly 400 lebanese dead, almost all civilians, 34 israelis, split about 50/50 soldiers/civilians.

The UN's emergency relief chief Jan Egeland has condemned the devastation caused by Israeli air
strikes in Beirut, saying it is a violation of humanitarian law and described the destruction as horrific
as he toured the city.

Israel has asked America to speed up shipments of precision bombs, including 5-tonne laser-guided
bombs, part of a sale signed last year. Unnamed sources confirm that the shipment has already
been made. This will really please all the arab governments! So, at the same time as the US is
ranting and raving about Iran and Syria aiding and arming Hizbollah and Hamas, America, as ever,
is fuelling the fire, the death and destruction and the war-crimes and, as ever, obeying its zionist
masters in Israel and Congress. Always this nauseating hypocrisy from America, it stinks to high
heaven! So more american weapons will now kill more lebanese and palestinian civilians, women
and children among them, and make sure that Lebanon is "set back 20 years" as promised by
Israeli PM Olmert. Who said that the AXIS of EVIL does not exist?

President Ahmadinejad of Iran has today warned Israel that it has "pushed the button of its own
destruction by attacking Lebanon" and said "I advise them to pack up and move out of the region
before being caught in the fire they have started in Lebanon". Lovely rhetoric and even people who
consider themselves moderate must soon start to wonder whether he has not been right all along!

Are we beginning to see some context and connections here?
After UNSCR 1559 was passed, Syria was put under enormous and continuous pressure to pull
its around 14,000 troops out of Lebanon but resisted, then former lebanese PM Rafik Hariri was
assassinated and everybody blamed and still blames Syria for that although even a child can see
that for Syria to do that with open eyes would have been just about the most stupid thing they
could possibly do for the simple reason that they would know that everybody would blame them
(So who did do it? Obviously those with most to gain from implicating Syria: Israel+America!),
after being subjected to every possible threat and every means of pressure except for military
invasion, Syria most reluctantly pulled its troops out, so leaving Lebanon wide open to what we
see taking place right now. It is all part of implementing the chilling policies of that neo-con
think-tank called The Project for the New American Century.

One must hope that Iran already has some kind of nuclear weapon and a suitable delivery
system - that seems to be the only thing that commands any respect in Washington and Tel Aviv.
No, I don't want the iranians to use it but just look at how America is tip-toeing around North Korea
now!

22 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (8):

This is related and highly relevant:
At the same time as the zionist-state-terror war-machine is laying Lebanon waste and blowing
women and children to bits on the obscene excuse of fighting terrorism, Israel is celebrating one
of the many acts of pure terrorism which assisted in the creation of the Jewish State of Israel.

60 years ago today, zionist terrorists bombed the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, 92 people were
killed. That event, which certainly helped to drive the british out of Palestine, is being not only
commemorated but positively celebrated at the restored hotel by various right-wing groups and
individuals, including former PM Benyamin Netanyahu.

They have erected a plaque outside the building, and are holding a two-day seminar with
speeches and a tour of the hotel by one of the jewish terrorists involved in the attack.

Not surprisingly, Britain has protested about the celebrations!
Both the british ambassador in Tel Aviv, and the consul-general in Jerusalem, have written to the
municipality, stating: “We do not think that it is right for an act of terrorism, which led to the loss of
many lives, to be commemorated”.
In particular they demanded the removal of the plaque that pays tribute to the Irgun, the jewish
terror group headed by Menachem Begin, the future prime minister, which carried out the attack
on 22 July 1946.
Another zionist terrorist wanted in those days by the british secret services also later became PM,
Yitzak Shamir.

No doubt they saw themselves, and are still seen today by the vast majority of israelis, as freedom
fighters and not as terrorists - amazing isn't it, it all depends on where you are looking from.

So I shall continue to describe Hamas and Hizbollah and Co as freedom fighters and resistance
fighters because, from where I stand, that is what they are!

20 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (7):

In America, the House of Representatives has just voted in favour of a resolution supporting Israel
unreservedly in the latest crisis and condemning "the enemies of The Jewish State".
It did not just pass, the vote was -are you ready for this?- 410 to 8.
The clearest proof yet, as if any were needed, that the arab and muslim worlds should expect
absolutely no empathy (americans don't know what that is anyway), sympathy, understanding,
help, assistance, co-operation, tolerance of any kind from the americans, who have, by their words
and by their actions, shown that in their perverse distorted world view the only good muslim, be it
nation or individual, is a compliant one. In short, muslims everywhere should abandon America
just like it has abandoned them.

America's unconditional support for Israel is very strange, as even a child can see that it runs
completely against US national interests. Surely America is the only country for which the well-
being of another nation is more important than its own? That might be understandable if Israel
had human or natural resources which were vital to the US but that is NOT the case, so what is it?
In all other respects, and in its relations with all other countries, America is utterly selfish.

The insanity -for there is no other way to describe it- is made even more incomprehensible when
it leads to direct confrontation with Israel's neighbours who have precisely the stuff, and in plentiful
supplies that will last for at least a generation to come, that tiny Israel so painfully lacks: OIL.
It is pretty obvious that, given Israel's uncivilized behaviour, it is impossible to have meaningful and
warm relations with both Israel and the Arab/Muslim nations, that is, you must choose between the
two and, in its insanity, America has chosen Israel.
Yet, by supporting completely non-representative "governments" in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc
it is getting its oil-addiction fixed, whilst, incredibly, lecturing everybody about and encouraging
democracy for all which, if implemented tomorrow, would invariably result in stridently anti-american
governments in those countries choosing to sample this luxury, and they would be highly likely to
turn off the taps, for a while at least, as a "thank you" for past humiliations endured with impotent
resignation - and who could blame them?
Now if Israel, in return for the 5 billion dollars or so it receives per year plus universal protection
from international law, always did precisely what America would like, then it might be possible to
construct some argument that the "unique relationship between Israel and America", referred to
again during the speeches preceding that vote today, was actually useful to America and it could
therefore be said to be a mutually beneficial arrangement, a symbiotic relationship.
But as anyone who follows the news knows, Israel rarely does anything which could or does
benefit the US, instead America willingly pays Israel to make America more and more hated, loathed
and despised throughout the world, whereas only Israel gains from the arrangement, which is
therefore a parasitic relationship.
In short, American foreign policy in this region, which dictates or at least influences it everywhere
else, is fatally flawed and inherently deeply schizophrenic.
There is much more about this in my long poem AXIS of EVIL.

Obviously, only the american people can cure their country of this insanity but tragically the signs
are that America is going in precisely the opposite direction.
The latest case of this all-consuming zionist-virus is a relatively new organisation called, wait for
this, 'Christians United for Israel' (CUFI) and if you visit their website you will find that, in between
countless quotes from the Bible, they believe that anything that is good for Israel is not just good
but absolutely vital for America, essential that America supports God's chosen people against the
enemies of that people and therefore of God, although even a superficial reading of the Quran will
show you that Yahweh=God=Allah, see also Religion/Pat Robertson on Ariel Sharon.
There are about 6 million Jews in America (2% of the population) and about 40 million (13-14%)
who call themselves evangelical christians, so it is easy to see the influence they could have and
sadly DO have, as it was precisely this group which was instrumental in re-electing that well-known
war criminal and mass-murderer GW Bush in 2004.

So they already have a lot to answer for but clearly, and alarmingly, they would like a lot more:
Yesterday, about 3500 descended from all 50 states of the US on Washington DC and held about
280 meetings. Naturally, this was all arranged before the latest flare-up in the Mideast but their
rhetoric is absolutely frightening, and precisely what they always accuse their muslim counterparts
of being: fundamentalist, extremist, fanatical.

They were urging the US government "not to restrain Israel in any way in the pursuit of Hamas and
Hizbollah" and "We want our Congress to make sure that not one dime of american money goes to
support Hamas and Hizbollah or the enemies of Israel".

From their statements it is clear they would like nothing more than an almighty conflagration, and
why not right now, between Israel and its enemies: you see, it might hurry up the eagerly-awaited
second coming of the Messiah and the construction of the resplendent New Jerusalem
(almost complete already, in the form of illegal settlements on illegally occupied land!).

The main organizer of this event was pastor John Hagee of the 18,000-member Cornerstone
Church in San Antonio, Texas, himself a long-time fervent supporter of Israel, who believes, in
common with many american evangelicals, potentially all 40 million of them, that God gave the land
to the jewish people and that christians have a biblical duty to support it and the jews.

He must be well pleased with the rally in Washington DC yesterday.
He must be even more pleased with the result of that vote in the House today.
Where that leaves the rest of America, and indeed the rest of the world, is the big question which
will have to be answered, and the sooner the better.

19 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (6):

Last week, at the start of this new crisis, America vetoed a draft resolution tabled by arab nations
in the UN SC which would have urged, maybe even demanded, that hostilities cease immediately.
One question please: how can it be that the world does not simply demand that Israel puts an
immediate end to its savage and barbaric destruction of Lebanon? And, failing Israel's compliance
with that reasonable request, exactly the same happening to it: massive disabling air-strikes to
prevent that terrorist state carrying on the way it is?

And, assuming that this is calmed down one way or the other before Israel has successfully "wiped
Lebanon off the map", how can it be "business as usual" with Israel? France has protested loudly
but will it actually DO something? The EU has been as forceful as can be expected but, again,
will it actually review anything, such as whether Israel can continue receiving aid under the EU
Neighbourhood Policy? Of course not, so why should Israel take any notice?

Surely, any nation which considers itself civilized must now finally completely review its relationship
with the Jewish State of Israel. And the same goes for every single individual on this planet -
personally I made that judgment and decision several years ago, but what about YOU?
Do you support Israel and, if so, on what grounds? Religious? Moral? Humanistic?

It seems to me that, as soon as practically possible, the entire islamic world should disengage with
the rest, predominantly western world. What has the West to offer, other than insults, humiliation,
illegal invasions and occupations, selfish meddling and neo-Crusader neo-colonialism??
Export markets of course! But, over a reasonably short time, that could surely be re-arranged.
If some decent non-islamic governments want to co-operate, then by all means engage with them.
Most of the new or recent governments in South America would probably be good candidates, as
would several in Africa, plus of course China, and India if it could be persuaded that its interests
are NOT best served by forging closer links with America.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in principle with a Union of Islamic Nations, indeed it seems to
be a logical concept which could actually function in the real world. Here is hoping that, some day
soon, it will - inshallah.

But for today: the death toll now stands at 300 lebanese and 30 israelis.
If the war criminals in Washington knew the value of human life they would stop this savage insanity
immediately with one single phone call from Bush to Olmert, but of course the world has learnt the
hard way that valuing human life is not part of the neo-con agenda, witness Afghanistan, Iraq,
Guantanamo, Palestine and, perhaps most obscene of all, their indisputable complicity in the
attacks on their own citizens in America on 11 Sept. 2001.

18 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (5):

So, Israel has told the UN that it is too early for the proposed international force to be deployed
and also too early for an israeli ceasefire. And with that, apparently, the world just shuts up!
I am forever amazed and saddened by what Israel can do and get away with and the extent,
grotesquely out of proportion to Israel's size and importance, to which it can dictate not only the
pace of events but the events themselves. Israel is indisputably tiny and unimportant and should
have influence accordingly.

The G8 leaders, before breaking up, could not even agree to call for an unconditional immediate
ceasefire, surely a pathetic and impotent capitulation to the agenda of Israel and America, so giving
Israel the green light to continue its barbaric destruction of lives and infrastructure throughout
Lebanon, whose army has been given orders not to retaliate, which sounds strange but may well
be a wise move by the lebanese government, so leaving any retaliation to Hizbollah.

The US says secretary of state Condoleezza Rice will travel to the Middle East on a peace mission,
but has not said when she will go. Presumably Israel will tell her when she may come!
Anyway, what can she possibly hope to achieve, when we already know what she will say, namely
that "the extremists and terrorists of Hizbollah and Hamas must be disarmed, and Syria and Iran
must stop interfering, must start democratizing and stop bankrolling terrorists, and of course little
Israel has every right to defend itself and Israel has never EVER done anything wrong".

The European Union, to its credit, has called on both sides to end the hostilities, saying they
"pose a serious threat to peace and security in the region".

If all this mindless death and destruction, in Gaza and Lebanon, had secured the release of Israel's
captured soldiers one could possibly, just possibly, attempt to justify some of it, but of course it
hasn't and it is most unlikely to do so, however many weeks Israel continues the savagery.
So what will be achieved?
Certainly a material weakening of Hamas and Hizbollah, but only for a time as both will recover
and rebuild, so, in practical and strategic terms, a waste of time and jewish lives for Israel.
It is obvious that one result, one "achievement", of this will be a further hardening of attitudes
towards Israel and all it stands for, and towards its western protectors and financial backers, of
course first and foremost America. This may well be an undeclared goal of Israel as it could be
used to "demonstrate" to the world that none of Israel's bloodthirsty extremist terrorist muslim
enemies are ready for, or remotely interested in, peace, negotiations or a settlement.
So leaving Israel more time to get on with all its indisputably illegal activities in order to "wipe
Palestine off the map". Just like America, Israel is obsessed with power, control, greed, all those
utterly selfish qualities which make this world such a tragic place for so many of its rightful citizens.
The death toll at the moment is around 230 lebanese to 25 israelis - life just isn't fair!!

The massive evacuations of foreign nationals now underway send a very negative signal to all of
Lebanon and are in my view totally selfish. The clear message is that Lebanon is being abandoned,
and not for the first time, and Israel is now free to do what it wants, which as ever is evil.
Nice friends to have! Anyone who only wants the good times and promptly leaves in times of
trouble should be barred from re-entry!!

Israel is now saying that "Iran co-ordinated the capture of two Israeli soldiers to divert attention from
its nuclear programme". What is next? Remember that much of the fatally flawed "intelligence"
used by America to justify the illegal invasion of Iraq came from Israel, which later in an internal
inquiry acknowledged that it had been "exaggerated" (strangely just like the "Intelligence" from both
America and Britain on the same subject).

Much as I would like to be able to like Israel -yes, I really would- Israel is always making it not only
difficult but absolutely impossible for anyone with a sense of justice and any empathy towards our
fellow humans. It mystifies me that Israel has ANY defenders and financial backers, it really does.

17 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (4):

This is going from bad to worse, and predictably so.
The suggestion coming out of the G8 summit, of an international force in the border region, sounds
as if it just might work, but the precondition that the captured israeli soldiers are first returned, is
quite simply romantic dreaming: why on earth should Hizbollah release them without anything in
return, except for about 200 dead lebanese and smashed infrastructure from the south to the north?
The same goes for the 3rd soldier, held in Gaza: something for nothing? Dream on!

GWB thinks it is just a little matter of "What they [referring probably to the UN] need to do is to get
Syria to get Hizbollah to stop doing this shit and it's over".

That moronically simplistic view totally ignores the fact that all these 3 soldiers were captured with
the clear objective of winning the release from israeli prisons of lebanese, palestinian and other
arab detainees - has that not sunk in yet, or has it simply not been conveyed to GWB and Co??

The more details we hear, the more inept the israelis look: apparently, this whole thing started
when Hizbollah fighters fired some Katyusha rockets just across the border at a village called
Shlomi, this lured the israeli soldiers into a carefully organized ambush, which resulted in the death
of 2 soldiers and the abduction of another 2, and a tank which pursued the raiders into Lebanon
promptly ran over a land-mine, wrecking the tank and killing 4 crew.
Later, off Beirut, a sophisticated naval vessel, a missile carrier with the latest surveillance
equipment, was hit by a radar-guided missile fired from the shore, resulting in serious damage and
the loss of 4 crew. Does Israel simply not know that Hizbollah has these weapons? And is it true,
as reported, that the warship's surveillance electronics were switched OFF? Whatever, it is
incredibly embarrassing for Israel. Worse was to come when one of many rockets which hit Haifa
killed 8 and injured about 50. Apparently, Israel did not know that Hizbollah had rockets which
could reach that far south. Well, they do now...
Again we must ask: what have Mossad and Shin-Bet been doing, if they truly did not know!!

Wait a minute: maybe they DID know and maybe we have all been fooled??
Certainly there are aspects, both here and in the Gaza incident, that suggest that this could be a
sort-of mini-version of 11 September 2001 (in which some researchers are convinced Mossad
had a BIG hand). That, just like the "attacks" on America were either created or tolerated by the
Bush administration because they would provide the longed-for "catalyzing event" specifically
referred to in that extraordinary policy document 'The Project for the New American Century',
maybe Israel more or less allowed these incidents to take place because they would provide the
"justification" to go after Hamas and Hizbollah?? Only a fool would rule out this possibility!

Israel has certainly shown the world during the last few weeks that its prime objective is NOT
retrieving its soldiers but to permanently weaken and if possible destroy both Hamas and
Hizbollah, and setting about that task in the savage and barbaric way that we have come to
associate with the Jewish State of Israel, flouting international laws and showing a complete
disregard for human life and civilized values.

Last night israeli planes fired missiles at the palestinian foreign ministry building, the attack
destroyed what was left of the building, which had already been badly damaged on Thursday.
No-one was inside at the time, but rescue workers say nine people in nearby houses were injured.
Israel said the ministry was targeted because it is run by a senior figure in the Hamas movement,
Foreign Minister Mahmoud Zahhar, who it accused of "planning terrorist attacks".
Mr Zahhar described the first attack on his ministry last Thursday as an Israeli crime.
AND NOT A WORD FROM THE REST OF THE WORLD!

Acts like these, like Ariel Sharon's pounding to rubble of Yasser Arafat's presidential compound in
Ramallah a few years ago, serve absolutely no military or strategic purpose, they are acts of pure
spite, hatred and evil. They are also, of course, acts of collective punishment of the population,
here represented by the buildings of its democratically elected leaders, which is illegal.
Is it a coincidence that Is-ra-el rhymes with il-le-gal??

If the "civilized" world will not physically stop Israel's state-terrorism, then at least it should make
sure that both the lebanese and the palestinians are suitably armed so that they can defend
themselves adequately. In which case, by Israel's own perverse logic, government buildings and
infrastructure in Israel would get smashed and pulverized in the same way, and with suitable
"regrettable collateral damage" of course. Same rules for everybody!

Today, israeli PM Ehud Olmert told parliament:
"We are not looking for war or direct conflict, but if necessary we will not be frightened by it.
Militant groups in Lebanon and Gaza are sub-contractors working under the auspices, with the
encouragement, of governments that support terrorism and are against peace in the axis of evil
that continues from Tehran to Damascus". Thanks for the lecture, you evil state-terrorist!
I wish I could make you read my poem AXIS of EVIL, start to finish, slowly and at least 10 times!!

If what Israel is doing in Lebanon and Gaza is neither war nor direct conflict, what then is it??
The way that Israel simply jumped at the opportunity to show how strong it is and how weak its
neighbours are, should tell us that, even if these incidents were neither wholly engineered nor
allowed to happen by Israel, they are actually welcome news because they finally "justify" what
Israel has wanted to do for some time.
Any sensible or remotely human leader would surely try to negotiate first and then, if no
acceptable results were possible, reluctantly consider the use of force?
Oh no, not Israel, which is confirming again and again that its creation in 78% of Palestine
in 1948 was a ghastly, dreadful, terrible mistake by the world, an event which is accurately
described by the palestinians as al-Naqba - the catastrophe.
Surely only zionists would disagree with that??

15 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (3):

Predictably, GW Bush, in St.Petersburg for the G8 summit, is refusing to criticize Israel, or to put
any pressure on it, in order to stop the orgy of destruction Israel is committing in Lebanon.
Instead repeating, like a brain-dead parrot, that it is all Hizbollah's fault and they should immediately
return the 2 soldiers and lay down their arms, and he also called on Syria to "exert influence over
Hizbollah". Yes, really!
President Putin, whilst expressing some sympathy for Israel's position, said "the use of force should
be balanced".

Both Bush and Putin choosing to ignore the statement by Hassan Nasrallah 2 days ago which
clearly explains WHY those soldiers were abducted (click here courtesy of the BBC).
I really do recommend that you take the time to listen to what he has to say, not only about the
abduction, but about values, too.

If indeed there are lebanese detained in israeli prisons and Israel has refused all negotiations about
how they could possibly be released, then it should surprise nobody, least of all Israel which prides
itself on always doing everything possible to retrieve its citizens, alive or dead, that lebanese
Hizbollah is doing the same. By arrogantly leaving some unfinished business, and equally
arrogantly underestimating Hizbollah, Israel has directly invited events like these and I for one
applaud Nasrallah and Hizbollah for doing whatever they can to retrieve THEIR people.
Same rules for everybody! And remember, all the 3 abducted are soldiers, not civilians, which
seems both reasonable and decent to me, in glaring contrast to the hundreds of palestinian
(and maybe lebanese?) civilians in israeli prisons.
As usual, once you start to examine the facts, it is Israel which turns out to be the terrorists!

Secretary of state Condoleezza Rice has urged Israel to "exercise restraint" as it carries out its "acts
of self-defence". And exactly when did the wanton destruction of infrastructure and killing of
civilians become "acts of self-defence"? Presumably, if Israel dropped a nuclear bomb on Beirut,
it would also be considered by America to be an "act of self-defence"?? America and Israel really
are perfect partners in crime, usually in the plural and usually against humanity.

So far, Israel's whole handling of these 2 abduction-crises has been absolutely void of intelligence,
just paranoid and pathological over-reactions which have resulted in further loss of israeli lives,
totally needlessly. What a strong and wise leader Ehud Olmert is!!

Meanwhile, the Arab League, meeting in Cairo, passed a unanimous resolution today calling
on the UN Security Council to intervene to stop escalating Mideast fighting.
Secretary-General Amr Moussa said: "The Middle East peace process has failed. The whole
process should now be sent back to the Security Council for a complete overhaul. We are going
to the Security Council -this is a unanimous position- to discuss the whole situation from scratch.
If the Security Council fails, nobody knows what might happen next" he said, pronouncing the
whole Mideast peace process "dead".
And who can disagree with that?? This initiative, if it survives America's right of veto which is
extremely doubtful, could actually achieve something. I sincerely hope it will.

14 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (2):

Listen to this (my italics):
The Pentagon has notified Congress of an Israeli request to purchase up to 210 million dollars in
JP-8 aviation jet fuel for its military aircraft. "The jet fuel will be consumed while the aircraft is in
use to keep peace and security in the region" the Pentagon's Defense Security and Cooperation
Agency said. The notice to Congress comes two days after Israeli fighter jets attacked targets in
Lebanon, including the international airport in Beirut, following the capture of two Israeli soldiers
by Hizbollah fighters. The Pentagon said the sale would help "improve the security of a friendly
country which has been, and continues to be, an important force for stability and economic
progress in the Middle East". The US Congress has 30 days to act to block the sale, otherwise
it is automatically approved.

When did you last hear such obscene lies and staggering hypocrisy??
Most likely, the fuel will be used to destroy infrastructure and kill civilians, either in Lebanon,
a sovereign nation, or in illegally occupied Gaza. (Technically, the occupation may be over,
but ask the people who actually live there!).
When will the american people stop, once and for all, this insanity??

Israel has just attacked the palestinian economy ministry in Gaza City as its "military operations"
(read: state terrorism) continue. So now Israel has bombed-to-rubble the offices of the 3 most
senior palestinian government representatives in Gaza: the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister
and the Finance Minister - hallelujah! aren't the zionists brave and clever!

Israel is behaving like a rabid dog and, just like a rabid dog, Israel should be put down:
THE WORLD HAS HAD ENOUGH!! IS-RA-EL GO TO HELL!!

13 July 2006:

Israel's latest War-Crimes (1):

So, 2 israeli soldiers have been abducted from just inside Israel's border fence with Lebanon,
in an ambush by Hizbollah fighters, and 2 more were killed during the operation, apparently with no
casualties for the raiders. Israel's first foray over the border resulted in a tank driving over a mine,
wrecking the tank and killing 4 crew.
Israeli PM Ehud Olmert immediately declared the raid "An act not of terrorism but an act of war".
Remember how he wasted no time in denouncing the palestinian raid 2 weeks ago, which resulted
in the abduction of 1 soldier and the deaths of 2 others, "A very serious Hamas terrorist attack".
He is of course entitled to his opinions but you get the impression that the answers are already
formed when these things happen, almost as if they were expected, as if they fit into some kind of
already designed plan. The question arises: have both Hamas and Hizbollah somehow been
baited by Israel and fallen into a ready-made trap, by providing Israel with the excuses for major
operations in Gaza and Lebanon??

As with the Gaza tragedy, Israel has already bombed much lebanese infrastructure: all 3 runways
of the international airport in Beirut, the main airbase in the south, roads, bridges etc, resulting in
significant civilian casualties, in one town in the south 10 members of one family were killed,
and 7 of another.
The usual impotent choir of international voices urging restraint has already been heard, and
ignored, but Russia, France and the EU have already said that Israel's response to the capture
of two soldiers is disproportionate, and, significantly, the Vatican described the air-strikes as
"an attack on a sovereign and free nation".

And, didn't we know it, that bank-roller of israeli illegality and barbarity over the decades, America,
personified by its president, that well-known war-criminal and mass-murderer GW Bush, repeated,
like an imbecile parrot, that "Israel has the right to defend itself" and described Hizbollah as a
"group of terrorists who want to stop the advance of peace". It is not often that words fail me,
but this time they really do.....

Well, Israel's impetuous and savage instant over-use of that "right to defend itself" has naturally
brought some responses from the other side, and rockets landing well inside Israel, 20 kms or so,
have killed at least 1 israeli civilian and injured about 15. Just like the efforts to rescue their soldier
in Gaza has resulted in the death of at least 1 other israeli soldier.
So, instead of preserving israeli lives, this pathological lashing out is actually wasting them,
probably knowingly sacrificing them as a "price well worth paying for the greater good" as Olmert
has made clear that Israel's intention is to "settle these problems", Hamas to the south and Hizbollah
to the north, "once and for all". Have you noticed the similarity in rhetoric to GW Bush's not being
willing to consider "anything less than complete victory" in America's self-inflicted and home-made
'War on Terror' (read: 'War OF Terror')?? It is the same heroic hallucinatory moronically simplistic
nonsense, and as statesmen both Bush and Olmert score about 1 out of 10.
And both these savages are in control of nuclear weapons - welcome to insanity!

Hizbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah has said the purpose of the abduction was to put Hizbollah
in a position where it could negotiate with Israel over lebanese, palestinian and other arab
prisoners held in israeli jails. And, technology permitting, you can watch/hear what Nasrallah
said by clicking here courtesy of the BBC. I really do recommend that you take the time to listen
to what he has to say, not only about the abduction, but about values, too.

Surely, then, we should ask some questions?
Like:
-how many lebanese are in israeli custody? who are they? are they fighters or civilians? are there
any women and under-18s? how did they get there? WHY are they being held? are they awaiting
trial, or have they been tried and sentenced, or are they just being held in detention without charges
(if so, echoes of Guantanamo)? These are all relevant and important questions that the world
should -and must- ask Israel, instead of just blindly following America's pre-recorded endless-loop
message that "the terrorists must immediately release the innocent israeli soldiers".
Yes, did you notice that: soldiers. As such, more or less fair game, would you not agree??
And we should of course ask all the above questions on behalf of palestinian and 'general arab'
detainees, too.
Currently, as far as we know, among Israel's total of about 9,000 palestinian prisoners, there are
about 100 women and 300 teenagers, presumably civilians abducted from their homes or from the
streets. Whatever they all are, fighters, civilians, women, teenagers, we can safely assume that
none of Israel's muslim prisoners went there voluntarily!

Why should Israel not negotiate over the release of its soldiers? Israel has done so on numerous
occasions in the past, not happily of course but accepted it as the pragmatic solution to a very
difficult problem. For Olmert's government to absolutely rule it out at the very beginning seems
strangely inept, yes, he is new in the job but he no doubt has old experienced advisers.
Is he just very headstrong and a poor listener? Or is there a wider agenda here??
Israel could turn all of Gaza into rubble without many problems as the occupied palestinians are
largely defenceless but with Hizbollah, a much larger force than Hamas and the other palestinian
factions, and much better equipped, and Lebanon being a proper country, albeit a fragile one,
the situation for Israel is very different.

Also, with Hizbollah and Lebanon now involved, Syria suddenly comes into the equation in a much
bigger way than with the incident involving Hamas and Gaza, though, of course, some Hamas
leaders have lived in exile in Damascus in Syria for many years. Syria still exercises significant
influence over political affairs in Lebanon and Israel might be prepared to risk, or even wish,
drawing Syria into the conflict. Remember, during one of the first days of the Gaza incident,
israeli fighter jets made threatening noises, quite literally, by swooping low over the private
seaside residence of Syria's president Assad.

Hizbollah being Shia muslim, there is also an iranian dimension here, and of course GW Bush
has already denounced "iranian interference in Lebanon and support for terrorist Hizbollah".
There is also an interesting and, in my view highly significant, symbiotic cooperation between
Shia Hizbollah and Sunni Hamas, hopefully a sign of the future, a better future, where Shias
and Sunnis realize that, first and foremost, they are Muslims together.

Another aspect here: most nations and organisations are urging Hizbollah and Hamas to return
the 3 soldiers speedily and safely, so as to "level the playing field" by taking the pressure off Israel.
Those same nations and organisations are constantly doing all they can to make another playing
field vertical: by urging, no, trying to force, through a boycott of their democratically elected
legitimate government and through economic sanctions, the palestinians to "negotiate" with Israel
from a position of absolute weakness and desperation, by setting preconditions that are as
ridiculous and unreasonable as they are impossible for any palestinian representatives to accept,
so forcing the palestinians to take the last remaining course of action, that of non-cooperation,
which they took when they elected Hamas.
And Hallelujah! Israel and the collective West can now again blame the palestinians for being
obstructionist and for the resulting failures, whilst Israel, with western donor money, continues
to expand illegal settlements, erect illegal apartheid-barriers, carry out illegal extra-judicial killings,
illegally use women and children as target practice etc etc, all in its step-by-step 'Final Solution',
the goal of which is to "wipe Palestine off the map". Nauseating hypocrisy!!

As that fine, proud, pragmatic and determined man, palestinian PM Ismail Haniya of Hamas,
has said several times: either a JUST peace or NO peace.
You can neither get clearer nor fairer than that, the tragedy is that nobody is listening because
they do not want to hear that there IS a solution within reach.
Long live Hamas!! Free Palestine!!

Israel's invasion of the Gaza Strip (3):

It is now 2 full weeks since the abduction of the israeli soldier and it must be clear to everyone by
now that Israel's main objective is not to retrieve him but to do as much damage to Gaza as the
wider world will let them get away with -which as ever is far too much- and if possible to bring down
the democratically elected palestinian government, just because Israel does not like it. Were it only
that simple, the governments of Israel and America would have been forcibly removed long ago!!

Not content with just smashing infrastructure, which is illegal, Israel has detained dozens of elected
Hamas MPs and other officials, which is of course also illegal.

It is encouraging that there has been outspoken condemnation from many quarters, some of them
unexpected ones:

A group of around 300 british jews, some of them well-known, have jointly released a statement
condemning Israel's disproportionate use of force. I applaud and salute that gesture!

Switzerland, as the "depository" nation of the Geneva Conventions, has said "there is no doubt
Israel has not taken the precautions required of it in international law to protect the civilian
population and infrastructure. The destruction of a power station, the attack on the offices of the
palestinian prime minister, the arbitrary arrests of a large number of democratically-elected
representatives of the people and ministers cannot be justified".

The UNs newly established Human Rights Council has, via its special envoy to the Occupied
Territories, that excellent man John Dugard, said that "Israel is violating in Gaza the most
fundamental norms of humanitarian law and human rights law", that "Israel's conduct is morally
indefensible", that "over 1,500 rounds of artillery have been showered on Gaza", that "sonic booms
terrorise the people, transport has been seriously disrupted by the destruction of roads and
bridges, sanitation is threatened", that "Israel's military action is a disproportionate use of force
against civilians", and he also accused the so-called Quartet of Mid-East mediators -the US, the
EU, the UN and Russia- of "failing to rein in Israel".

In New York, the UN Security Council has debated a draft resolution demanding an immediate
Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the release of detained palestinian officials. The draft was
presented by Qatar on behalf of the UN's Arab Group, but appears doomed in view of opposition
from the US, which has the power of veto. The draft does not mention the palestinian rocket attacks
or Cpl Shalit's capture, and the US ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, said the document was
"not balanced", but of course that is the untenable excuse used every time by America to protect
Israel's barbaric behaviour.
Any resolution must of course reflect the real situation, which in the Israel-Palestine conflict is
terribly unbalanced in Israel's favour, so how can a resolution dealing with those issues be
balanced?
If it is intended to correct any of the massive wrongs committed against the palestinians, then any
resolution has, of course, to be unbalanced.

For 2 days in succession, UN General Secretary Kofi Annan has demanded that "Israel take urgent
action to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip", he has called on Israel to restore
supplies of food and fuel and to repair a power plant hit in an air strike during the first day of the
invasion, he has urged Israel to lift restrictions on the movement of basic goods such as foodstuffs
into Gaza and he said UN agencies must be allowed to work in the region.

The EU said "The EU condemns the loss of lives caused by disproportionate use of force by the
Israeli Defence Forces and the humanitarian crisis it has aggravated".
The EU is Israel's largest trading partner and could -and in my view SHOULD- immediately apply
sanctions or at least some kind of limited boycott to show Israel that the EU is serious this time.
As usual, too little and too late, and it will no doubt just remain a few hard words in public and then
business as usual - so why should Israel take any notice?

Meanwhile, about 40 palestinians are now dead and 1 israeli soldier - which in a way makes all
the destruction even more insane because it was in order to retrieve precisely 1 soldier that Israel
started all this, at least officially.
Three of the palestinian dead are a 6 year old girl, her 20 year old brother and their mother, killed
in an airstrike when a missile hit their house, according to eyewitnesses.
Characteristically, Israel said it was investigating the incident but did not believe it was responsible.
How many times have we heard this sick and cowardly phrase, recently and over the years and
decades? The leaders of Israel, past and present, should all be flown to the Hague and be tried
for war crimes and crimes against humanity!

A palestinian in Gaza, whose 2 nephews were killed by israeli fire whilst helping resistance fighters
arrange sandbags in the streets, said he would miss his nephews dearly, and added:
"I'm against firing Qassams [rockets] into Israel, but if I had a house full of Qassams right now,
I'd fire them all into Israel".

And who can blame him for those sentiments? What would YOU do, or wish you COULD do,
in his situation?

Anniversary of London Bombs (1):

One year ago today, 56 people died and more than 700 were injured when 4 suicide-bombers
detonated their packs almost simultaneously during morning rush hour, 3 on the underground trains
and one on a double-decker bus. All 4 bombers were British muslims, from the north of England.

Whilst in no way wishing to spoil the commemorations, nor to trivialize the pain and anguish of
the maimed and bereaved, I cannot help quote something Ayman al-Zawahiri of al-Qaeda said
shortly afterwards: "It is a sip from the glass that muslims have been drinking from".
Now, whether you agree with that statement or not, it is indisputably true, in the sense that the
numbers involved in the London bombs, and therefore of course the amount of direct personal hurt,
grief and loss, was small compared to the suffering unleashed on the people of Afghanistan and
Iraq by the Coalition of the Killing of which, tragically, Britain is the second largest contingent, nor
must we ever forget Israel's daily brutalizing of the Palestinians which has gone on unchecked for
decades and made possible by the collective West, by the combination of being unwilling to confront
and rein in the state-terrorism of Israel whilst at the same time funding the whole ghastly thing.
How many tens of thousands innocent civilian men women and children have died horrible deaths
in Afghanistan and Iraq, directly or indirectly at the hands of Bush-Blair and Co?
And you wonder why it hits you!

The British troops currently in Afghanistan are part of a three-year NATO task force charged with
helping the Afghan "government" to stamp its authority on the restive southern region.
Six UK soldiers have been killed during the first few weeks.
PM Tony Blair said on Wednesday (5.7.2006) that those troops were doing "the most extraordinary
and heroic job", which was important for the security of the wider-world and vital "to our security
here in this country".
Here we go again: the folly, the arrogance and the sheer inaccuracy of those words could not
possibly be greater!
As long as the collective West invades and occupies sovereign nations illegally, and does it based
on packs of horrible lies, large segments of the populations in those countries will resist by any and
all means available until the invading foreigners have been driven out.
No outside power, however mighty, has ever been able to subdue the Afghan people, proud and
fiercely independent, for more than a few years. Once the Coalition of the Killing leaves, as it will
have to sometime, either willingly or chased out, it will be up to the Afghans themselves -
and NOBODY else- to sit down, if they can, to work out what kind of country and society they wish
to have. Logic suggests it will remain an uneasy loose collection of tribally ruled regions which take
little or no notice of central "government". And why shouldn't it be?

As one brave American politician said, about foreign "terrorists" operating inside the US:
"They are over here because we are over there".

How can the large-scale state-terrorism of the West and Israel be "heroic and vital" and the small-
scale loose-group counter-attacks be "despicable and barbaric"??

And some of you still wonder why there are suicide-bombers?!?

Two lines from my poem AXIS of EVIL elsewhere on this website:

A small price to pay for your reckless past
And unless YOU change it will not be the last…

Anniversary of London Bombs (2):

Something else is worth mentioning here:
In the immediate aftermath and shortly afterwards, some very strange reports emerged.

One was that then israeli finance minister Benyamin Nethanyahu, who was in London for a
conference and was staying at a hotel, as I understand it, on top of King's Cross Station, received
a warning minutes before the blasts not to leave his hotel, or hotel room. If true, how do you explain
it other than by someone, in a very interesting and probably high place, having prior knowledge?

Another was an interview with someone from, if I remember right, a private security consulting firm
who was adamant that his company had been running a vast and very complicated exercise during
the very same hours and on the very same train lines.....

I have been looking for those articles recently and cannot find them, it seems they have been
"pulled". All very strange.....

Weird and sinister echoes of 11 Sept. 2001 where, once you start to look into it with your rational
faculties switched on, you must, sadly, conclude that America was attacked by America itself.....
Was Britain attacked by Britain that day?? Well, in one way it was of course, as all 4 bombers
were british - but you get my drift??
